Get to know Alida Hartzenberg – your dedicated legal partner.

With over 30 years’ experience as an attorney, conveyancer, and notary, Alida offers professional legal services across a range of specialist fields, including Conveyancing/Property Law, deceased estates, notarial services, and trust and contract law. Alida completed her BCom and LLB degrees in 1985 at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg. During her articles of clerkship, she served as secretary of the Candidate Attorneys’ Association in 1986 and 1987. In March 1988, she was admitted to practice as an attorney, conveyancer, and notary public in Natal (now Kwazulu Natal). While practicing in Pietermaritzburg, she lectured legal secretaries at a business school and conveyancers on behalf of the Law Society.

In 2009, she was admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary public at the High Court of the Western Cape and began practicing in Cape Town. After gaining experience at a few local firms, she established Alida Hartzenberg Attorney in 2016 (previously known as Hartzenberg-Mabeya Attorneys). As a sole practitioner, she personally manages every legal matter, providing clients with clear communication, professional service, and focused legal attention from start to finish. She often assists attorneys from other provinces to register matters at the Cape Town Deeds Office. She also attends to transactions to be registered in other provinces of South Africa.

She is committed to giving back to the community and provides pro bono legal advice at the Deeds Office and Master’s Office and takes part in the Free Wills Campaign every September.
